Industrial coating with Tipton ECX

Multi-spin vortex technology that turns coating into a controlled, repeatable process — faster cycles, lower material loss and less dependence on one master operator.

Not just a coater. A process system.

Most coating pans produce good results under ideal conditions. Real production brings different operators, changing humidity, more SKUs and rising ingredient costs — and that is when uneven layers, clumping and rework appear. The ECX engineers the motion inside the drum, so coating becomes predictable.

Vortex flow

An independently rotating disc and drum for fast, even coating.

Less waste

Excess coating falls back into the mix and is reincorporated.

The ECX system

We officially represent Tipton for confectionery coating in Europe.

The ECX multi-spin coating system

Instead of relying on tumbling, the ECX uses vortex and centrifugal flow created by an independently rotating disc and drum.

Speed: fast incorporation of coating media shortens cycle times
Yield: excess coating is reincorporated, reducing waste
Consistency: controlled stirring for uniform layers
Stability: recipe-based parameters reduce operator variance

How the Tipton ECX vortex flow coats products evenly

Engineered motion inside the drum

The structured internal circulation spreads coating faster and more evenly, reduces dead zones and lowers collision damage — so results stay stable across batches, shifts and operators.

Cleaning: open top and a tilting, draining structure make cleaning and changeovers fast.

Tipton ECX series multi-spin coating systems

From compact batches to industrial volume

The ECX series is available in multiple sizes, with custom specifications on request — designed to integrate into automated or semi-automated production lines.

The ECX Ps model also handles mixing, granulation and sizing of fine particles in one unit.

More than equipment

A coater only performs as well as the process behind it. Support can include coating process guidance, recipe and phase development, defect analysis, scale-up from trial to production and integration into existing lines.

For European projects, technical support is available through a partner in Germany.

How we work with you

From the first conversation to a running production — in three steps.

1. Assess

We look at your products, volumes and space, and recommend the right setup — not the biggest one.

2. Test

Where possible we trial your own products before you invest, so you see real results.

3. Install & train

Delivery, installation, operator training and ongoing support — from one partner.

How is the ECX different from a conventional coating pan?

A conventional pan relies on tumbling and on the skill of the operator. The ECX creates a controlled vortex flow with an independently rotating disc and drum, which spreads coating faster and more evenly and makes results repeatable.

Yes. Excess coating falls back into the mix and is reincorporated, which improves yield and reduces scrap and rework.

Much less than a conventional pan. Recipe-based parameters keep results stable across shifts and operators.

Chocolate dragées, sugar-coated products, coated nuts, gummies and snacks — and, outside food, nutraceutical and fine-powder applications.

For very small or occasional batches a classic pan can be enough. We will tell you honestly whether the ECX fits your volume.

Your product type, coating method, batch sizes and current bottlenecks. We then advise transparently whether the ECX fits your goals.
